I was challenged by the many stories of people living a radical life for Jesus Christ. They are not giving it lipservice only but their lives shine with Jesus. David shares many stories of our brothers and sisters in persecuted countries who are serving Jesus with their whole lives at a radical price. We have been blessed here in America but our focus needs a little readjusting (well maybe a huge readjusting).
Is my heart totally devoted to Christ - Am I willing to sell everything I have and give to the poor? Would I be willing to pack up and move to a third world country? Do I forgive those who hurt and abuse me? Share the love of Christ with unbelievers? Am I praying for the Lord to send workers into the harvest? Spending time in His word (which is a blessing some do not have)? The book will bring to light these questions and probably many more.
I am not sure where the Lord will lead my family but I pray it is closer to the image of Christ each day. I pray I am willing to go where He asks me to go, give what He asks me to give, love who He asks me to love, read and meditate on His word on a daily basis and pray at all times.
This is a challenging book so if you are up for a challenge put it on your reading list. You can get a free copy of the free companion booklet, The Radical Question, at Multnomah and you can preorder your book here.
Blessings,
